PartPlay welcomes the Maggini Quartet

After a lot of work in the studio we are happy to announce the first in a series of new movements being uploaded to PartPlay, performed by the wonderful Maggini Quartet! The first movement of Haydn’s op. 55 no. 3 is now available for monthly and annual subscribers. Written for violinist Johann Tost, this is one of several lesser known quartets by Haydn that are very rewarding to play.

Subscribers can now look forward to a new movement uploaded every week, which this year will include music by Pachelbel, Telemann, Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Shostakovich and Bartók. We’ll notify you by email when new performances are available, and you can keep an eye on our progress by following us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

We have also made some technical improvements to the site this month which should make the player’s experience even better. We have streamlined the loading of video and audio by over 20%, and we’re currently making improvements to the way videos are loaded on mobile devices and on slower connection speeds. We’re dedicated to making PartPlay as accessible and easy to use as possible, and this should help a lot of our subscribers enjoy performances more smoothly. We’ve also updated our FAQs with lots of information about getting the most from PartPlay.
