Shostakovich and Scales!
This week’s new repertoire piece is the first movement of Shostakovich’s shortest string quartet – no.7, op.108. Plans are already afoot to record the autobiographical eighth quartet, but for those who may not know it the seventh is an amazing work and well worth learning. The movement is available now on our annual and monthly plans, and we’ll be adding close up videos and player interviews shortly.
This is one of many pieces you can now also try 20% slower thanks to our amazing slow down option!
Steve is currently busy editing new pieces for the coming weeks, including – for our free Thomastik-Infeld plan – a chance to start working on your scales using accompanying tunes, as developed by Kathy and David Blackwell.
If you’ve got suggestions for pieces you’d like to see on PartPlay do please let us know and we’ll add them to our list.
